San Sebastián del oeste, minas y café

Live the magic of a mining city, San Sebastian del Oeste was founded 400 years ago known as the mining capital of Nueva España.

 Placed between hills and amazing forests, hidden among Sierra Madre hills it’s located the historical city of San Sebastian del Oeste, it’s an isolated paradise preserved through centuries, it’s at an altitude of  1480 meters above sea level.

Bordering with Nayarit state to the North, Mascota to the South, Guauchinango and Mascota to the East and Puerto Vallarta to the West.

It’s a mining town that had it’s boom in colonial times, having up to 20,000 citizens; however it population decreased in the XIX century since mines closed, it was called Real de San Sebastian name that took until early XIX century,  in the middle of the XIX century already it was known like San Sebastian, in 1983 got its actual name.

Its flora consists mainly of pine, oak, parota, ash, masahuite and pochote, its fauna consists of deer, rabbit, wild boar, coyote, parrot, tlacuache, armadillo, quail, squirrel, gopher, macaw, hawk and many more.
